Product Description:

  • Salbutamol is used to relieve symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) such as coughing, wheezing and feeling breathless.
  • It works by relaxing the muscles of the airways into the lungs, which makes it easier to breathe. Salbutamol comes in an inhaler (puffer).
  • Salbutamol is used to prevent and treat wheezing and shortness of breath caused by breathing problems (such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
  • It is also used to prevent asthma brought on by exercise.
  • It is a quick-relief medication.
  • Salbutamol belongs to a class of drugs known as bronchodilators.
  • It works by relaxing the muscles around the airways so that they open up and you can breathe more easily.
  • Controlling symptoms of breathing problems can decrease time lost from work or school.

How To Use:

The recommended dose is:

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over:

  • For the relief of symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath
  • Either one or two puffs as needed.
  • For preventing asthma - Two puffs before exercising 10-15 minutes before exercise
  • or exposure to a “trigger”

For regular treatment:

  • Two puffs up to 4 times a day

Children (aged 4 to 11 years):

  • For the relief of symptoms such as wheezing and shortness of breath-Usually one puff.
  • This may increased to two puffs if necessary.

For preventing asthma:

  • Usually one puff before exercising.
  • This may increased to two puffs if necessary.

For chronic therapy:

  • Usually up to two puffs four times daily.
  • Children using this inhaler should be supervised by an adult and should use this inhaler
  • only as advised by the doctor.

All patients:

  • If you have taken a dose of two puffs, then you should wait four hours before
  • taking another dose. You should not take more than eight puffs in 24 hours.
  • You should check with your doctor or pharmacist about when to use your inhaler and how many puffs you must use each day if you are not sure.
  • If your usual treatment is not working or you need more than eight puffs per day, please tell your doctor.
  • You should not increase your dose without consulting your doctor.

Warnings And Precautions:

Before using Butalin Inhaler, inform your doctor about:

  • your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.).
  • Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug.
  • Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert.
  • Dosage is based on your condition.
  • Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.

  • Always keep the inhaler upright during the loading of the dose
