Triamcinolone acetonide is a medication that is given as a spray in the nose for the treatment of nasal symptoms that you may experience if you suffer from allergic rhinitis.
This medicine is used in adults and children 2 years of age and over.
Nasal symptoms that you may experience with allergic rhinitis include itching, sneezing, and having a congested, runny, or stuffy nose. There are two types of allergic rhinitis. “Perennial allergic rhinitis” is trigged by multiple factors like house dust mites or animal fur and can occur at any time of the year.
“Seasonal allergic rhinitis” can be triggered by different pollens in different seasons during the year.
This medicine is effective only when used regularly and may not reduce your symptoms immediately.
This medicine may help with the symptoms in some patients within the first day of therapy, however, for other patients, it may take 3 to 4 days to experience relief.

How to use Triamcinolone acetonide: Adults and children (over 12 years)

The usual starting dose is 2 sprays in every nostril daily.
Once your symptoms become better controlled, the dose may be reduced to 1 spray in every nostril daily.

Children (6 to 12 years old)

The usual recommended dose is 1 spray in every nostril daily.
If the symptoms do not subside, then the recommended dose may be increased to 2 sprays in every nostril daily.
